Metalaxyl is a new, highly effective internal absorption bactericide. It can be absorbed directly into plants, offering water solubility significantly higher than that of ordinary fungicides. It demonstrates selective and specific control against downy mildew and Phytophthora in Oomycetes, including potato late blight, grape downy mildew, hops downy mildew, beet blight, rape white rust, and tobacco black shank. It is also effective for managing cotton lodging disease and millet white hair disease.
